Welcome to the

Shetland Sheepdog Club of Queensland

- The SSCQ is a non-profit, volunteer-led organisation affiliated with Dogs QLD and the Australian National Kennel Council -

The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Queensland Inc is a welcoming, non-profit organisation affiliated with Dogs Queensland. We are dedicated to preserving, promoting and supporting the wellbeing of the Shetland Sheepdog, affectionately known as the Sheltie, whether as a much-loved companion, a show dog, or a performance dog.

Since forming in 1970, the Club has brought together Sheltie enthusiasts from Queensland, across Australia and overseas. We support breeders and owners through events, education, Canine Control Council representation and encouragement for responsible, ethical breeding practices, including efforts to reduce hereditary disease and uphold the ANKC approved Breed Standard.

Our activities include Championship and Open conformation shows, Scentwork and other dog sports trials, competitions, “Fun Days”, local community engagement and a variety of other dog-related events.

Our members include people who breed, show, train, compete with, and adore their Shelties as companions. Whether you already share your life with a Sheltie or simply admire the breed, you will find a friendly community within the Club. Members receive newsletters and social media updates about club activities and other Sheltie-related news.

General Meetings are held monthly, and our Annual General Meeting is held at the beginning of the calendar year. Current financial members are warmly encouraged to attend and take part.

We would be delighted to welcome you as a member and look forward to meeting you (and your shelties!) at one of the Club’s many activities.
